W elcome. The decision to begin psychotherapy can be the start of an exciting journey, resolving emotional conflict and creating healthy skills. Finding life balance, healing from past trauma, developing healthy boundaries and behaviors, are all things you can look forward to through insight-oriented psychotherapy.
Through my experience working with individuals, couples, and families, I have developed my skills blending cognitive behavioral therapy with psychodynamic therapy to create a healthy, healing environment. My goal for therapy is to create a trusting relationship between the client and clinician, allowing for open dialogue, communication, and change. I feel this approach can effectively address the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, body image disorder, depression, anxiety, and weight management and create well-being.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 7 years of experience specializing in Eating Disorders. I earned my Masters Degree at the University of Houston and worked as a psychotherapist at the Eating Disorders Clinic at Texas Children's Hospital since 2000. Along with my private practice, I also currently work at The Methodist Hospital. I am approved by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners to provide supervision and am available for professional consultation.
Exploring the option of psychotherapy can be an opportunity for you to challenge your own boundaries, find trust in yourself, and accept support and help from others. It is about reflection, finding understanding, and developing new insight and skills. Good luck in your journey.
